Bartlett, TX - A former Bartlett Independent School District teacher, identified as 26-year-old Jerod Lee Knox, was arrested by the Holland Police Department on Thursday, Jan. 22. According to Bell County jail records, Knox faces charges of Possession of Child Pornography and Improper Relationship Between Educator and Student, both classified as second-degree felonies.
Allegations Stem from 2025 Incident at Bartlett High School
An arrest affidavit reveals that law enforcement first responded to Bartlett High School in January 2025 after reports surfaced of inappropriate conduct involving Knox and a student. A 17-year-old student reportedly accused Knox of touching them inappropriately and making sexually explicit remarks while at Knox’s home.
Investigators stated that Knox was fully aware the teenager was a student at Bartlett High School, where he served as a licensed educator. Several other students, both current and former, have been identified as possible victims of similar behavior.
Evidence Found in Teacher’s Possession
During the investigation, a former student told police about a previous relationship with Knox that allegedly involved the exchange of sexually explicit photographs and videos. A search of Knox’s phone reportedly turned up over ten videos of the student nude or engaged in sexual acts. Authorities believe some of the footage dates back to when the student was only 16 years old.
TEA Investigation Ongoing
The Texas Education Agency (TEA) has listed Knox as being under review by its Educator Investigations Division. According to records examined by KCEN, the TEA began its official review of Knox on Feb. 12, 2025.
Knox remains in custody at the Bell County Jail as the investigation continues.
