Indianapolis, IN – An Indianapolis church leader is facing serious charges following allegations involving a minor. Authorities say 40-year-old Olman Amador has been charged with two counts of child molesting and two counts of confinement involving a victim under 14.
Investigators Detail Alleged Incidents at Church
Court documents show that the Indiana Department of Child Services Central Intake Unit received a report on September 23, 2025, claiming that a 14-year-old girl had been abused by Amador. Officials say Amador serves as a pastor at Iglesia Pentecostal Vida Y Esperanza. Prior to that, he worked at Iglesia Pentecostal Divina Trinidad #5 on the city’s east side, the location where the alleged incidents occurred.
Amador told police he had been sent from Georgia by the church’s central organization to establish the Indiana congregation. Investigators say the victim’s family had previously attended the church where Amador served.
Two Separate Incidents Reported
According to the report, Amador is accused of abusing the girl on two occasions. The first is said to have taken place three years ago while the victim helped Amador with church-related tasks. The second reportedly happened earlier this year when Amador picked her up and drove her to a bus stop.
During questioning, Amador denied all accusations, telling investigators that “any teenager can say anything” but that it “doesn’t mean it is true.” He claimed he was never alone with the victim and denied any inappropriate behavior.
Witness Testimony Cited in Case
Court documents note that investigators interviewed witnesses. One told police they saw the victim crying and, after asking what was wrong, heard her describe what Amador had done. The witness later confronted Amador, who allegedly replied, “You do not have proof,” and “You didn’t have proof, only God, you and I are the ones who saw.”
The report indicates the victim told the same witness she had stayed silent for two years because Amador had asked for forgiveness and because she cared for his children.
Church Confirms Employment of Accused Pastor
Amador was taken into custody at the Marion County Community Justice Campus. Iglesia Pentecostal Divina Trinidad #5 confirmed that Amador previously served as a pastor but declined further comment.
Interview with Indiana Lawyer on Legal Action After Pastor Abuse
When allegations arise against a church leader accused of abusing a minor, families often face confusion and uncertainty about what steps to take. In this interview, Indiana lawyer Jeff Gibson explains the legal options available for victims and their families when a pastor faces allegations of abuse.
Laurence Banville, Esq.: When families learn that a trusted religious leader has been charged with abusing a minor, what legal options are available to them?
Jeff Gibson, Esq.: Families can pursue both criminal justice and civil action. While prosecutors handle the criminal side, families can also file civil lawsuits to hold the church or its leadership accountable if they failed to supervise or protect the child. We often see liability claims when institutions ignore warning signs or mishandle complaints.
Banville: What should families do first if they have concerns or new information?
Gibson: They should report it immediately to law enforcement or the Department of Child Services. After that, speaking with an attorney who handles abuse cases helps clarify their rights and preserve evidence. The sooner action is taken, the stronger the case can be.
Banville: Do these cases typically reveal broader issues in church oversight?
Gibson: Unfortunately, yes. Investigations often show a pattern of poor oversight, lack of training, or deliberate concealment. Civil cases can play an important role in prompting reform and protecting other children in the future.
