Victorville, CA — A longtime youth softball coach in Victorville has been arrested following accusations of repeated sexual abuse involving a former player, authorities confirmed.
Investigation Traces Back to 2012 Allegations
The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department said it launched its investigation on June 30, 2025, after receiving information identifying the suspect as 50-year-old Armando Felix. Detectives allege Felix sexually assaulted an underage female multiple times beginning in 2012, when the victim was between 13 and 14 years old. Investigators reported that Felix initially met the victim while coaching her softball team.
Charges Filed by District Attorney’s Office
After weeks of investigation, detectives submitted their findings to prosecutors. On Friday, August 15, the San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office filed felony child sexual abuse charges against Felix. He was taken into custody that same day at the Victorville Courthouse, where he was attending court proceedings connected to a separate child sexual assault case.
Softball Coach Felix Booked Without Bail
Felix was booked into the High Desert Detention Center, where he is being held without bail. Officials confirmed he has been involved in coaching youth softball for several years, raising concerns that there may be other victims connected to his activities.
