Centralia, WA – A Harper Junior High School teacher in Davis, California, has been arrested for alleged sexual crimes involving a minor. Natasha Nicole Polk, 33, was taken into custody on Wednesday in West Sacramento in connection with incidents that reportedly occurred in Centralia, Washington, in 2020.
Allegations of Serious Misconduct by Middle School Teacher
According to the Centralia Police Department, Polk allegedly raped a 13-year-old boy when he was in eighth grade, with the abuse continuing after he completed middle school. The investigation, which began in October 2023, uncovered evidence suggesting Polk provided the victim with alcohol, marijuana, and vapes.

Investigators claim Polk used her position as an educator to gain access to the victim while he was incarcerated at Lewis County Juvenile Hall for unrelated issues. She allegedly drove the victim from Centralia to her apartment in Lacey, where she engaged in sexual acts with him after providing alcohol.
Continued Alleged Abuse of Middle School Student
After moving to West Sacramento in 2021, Polk reportedly maintained contact with the victim. During a visit to Washington, she rented an AirBnB in Tacoma where she allegedly had sex with him again.
Arrest and Extradition
Following the investigation, an arrest warrant was granted by the Lewis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office. Polk was arrested at her home in West Sacramento and booked into Yolo County Jail, where she awaits extradition to Lewis County.

Legal Recourse for Victims of Teacher Sexual Abuse
The recent arrest of Natasha Nicole Polk, a Harper Junior High School teacher, for alleged sexual crimes against a minor has brought the issue of teacher-student sexual abuse into sharp focus. As communities grapple with the implications of such cases, questions arise about the legal rights of victims and the accountability of educational institutions. To address these concerns, we spoke with Mike Pfau, a seasoned Washington attorney specializing in sexual abuse cases. In this interview, Pfau offers valuable information on the legal options available to victims and discusses how negligent parties can be held responsible. His insights provide a roadmap for those affected by such traumatic experiences and underscore the importance of swift action in seeking both justice and healing.
Laurence Banville, Esq.: Mike, what legal options do victims of teacher sexual abuse have?
Mike Pfau, Esq.: Victims can take two main legal routes. First, they can cooperate with prosecutors in criminal cases against the perpetrator. Second, they can file civil lawsuits against both the abuser and potentially the school district or other institutions that may have failed in their duty to protect students.
Banville: How can schools or other institutions be held responsible in these situations?
Pfau: Schools can be held liable if they neglected to properly screen employees, ignored red flags, or failed to respond adequately to reports of misconduct. To establish liability, we often need to demonstrate that the school knew or should have known about the risk and didn’t take sufficient preventive measures.
Banville: What advice would you offer to victims or their families in these cases?
Pfau: I strongly recommend reporting the abuse to law enforcement immediately. It’s also crucial to document everything and seek counseling for the victim. Consulting with an attorney who specializes in sexual abuse cases is important to understand their rights and the potential for civil action. Timing is often critical in these cases due to statutes of limitations, so prompt action is advisable.
