Was Matthew Anthony Keller Listed in SBC List of Abusers?
Matthew Anthony Keller, a youth ministry volunteer at Haltom Road Baptist Church in Fort Worth, Texas, pleaded guilty to a federal charge of child pornography production. Keller was charged with coercing a minor boy into sending a video of himself in handcuffs and having an erection. In August 2017, he was sentenced to 240 months in federal prison.

According to the Washington Post, a 300-page report was launched on Sunday, May 22, 2022. The report contains horrifying new details relating to certain abuse circumstances and clarify how denominational authorities actively fought abuse avoidance and change for many years.
Southern Baptist Convention leaders have announced an extensive and independent third-party examination that revealed that abusers were often ignored, forgotten, or perhaps condemned by upper-level congregation representatives from within this religious denomination of larger than 16 million members. A Past of Dismissed Abuse

One victim recounted being treated with hostility as she claimed she was sexually abused by a youth pastor. The implicated pastor served in numerous Southern Baptist churches in numerous states. At a conference with the SBC leaders in 2007, a member of the Exec Council “turned his back to her during her speech and another chortled.”

The report claims that a key Southern Baptist leader was credibly accused of sexual abuse just 1 month after completing his two-year spell as the convention’s president. The report likewise names 3 previous presidents of the convention, a previous vice president, and the previous head of the SBC’s administrative division as notable SBC leaders who aided in covering up and actually motivated suspected abusers.
